House of Context uses art to tell untold stories, to start the dialog and connect from there. It all started with the question: "What will be the new normal for you?". Where some pedestrians shouted that they didn't want to know about "then new normal", there were others that took time to sit down and conversate.
"During the conversations, I discovered that there is a lot more than just a new normal. This is what caught my attention." House of Context is an art project in Amsterdam-Noord. Curated by Floor van Hulsen. She asked me to design the logo and posters for this project.
For the logo, they wanted to work with whitespace and perspective,
as context is all about perspective. The shapes of the C and O worked perfectly to create the H. You can look at the logo from different perspectives, upsidedown for example, and it still works.
The posters were hanging dived over 12 windows at the Modestraat in Amsterdam-Noord. The posters had a gradient background going from left to right visualizing the connection between the people in Noord.
